Goodbye Michael...

I can barely memorize all the hits that made Michael Jackson one of the golden figure in the history of American entertainment. Inspite of the intrigues of child molestation, sex reassignment, psychological disorders, cosmetic feats in hiding his skin disease called vetiligo. I could say that he is still loved by the hundreds and thousands of his fans all over the world who showed sympathy on his death. Many were devastated upon knowing that he died from a cardiac arrest a year before his planned comeback series of concerts in London.

I don't say so much negativites towards MJ as I was neither a fan nor a Jacko Wacko crusader but his songs really been an inspiration in my younger years until now. I like Ben a lot. I would always sing that song together with my nanay, everytime I came home early from my work. We would always find time to bond thru singing and she knows some of Michael's songs because they are of the same age.

The song touches me even to the realm of my innards. The song is about friendship, choosing him when all the world says that is the unlikeable, knowing him the best that he can be when all you knew that he got nothing.

Allow me to paste the lyrics of Ben and tag along as we try to cherish the young Michael that we truly adore.

Ben

Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you, my friend, will see
You've got a friend in me
(you've got a friend in me)

Ben, you're always running here and there
You feel you're not wanted anywhere
If you ever look behind
And don't like what you find
There's one thing you should know
You've got a place to go
(you've got a place to go)

I used to say "I" and "me"
Now it's "us", now it's "we"
I used to say "I" and "me"
Now it's "us", now it's "we"
Ben, most people would turn you away
I don't listen to a word they say
They don't see you as I do
I wish they would try to
I'm sure they'd think again
If they had a friend like Ben
(a friend) Like Ben
(like Ben) Like Ben
